Dr Shaun Watson MBBS FRACP PhD
I am a senior neurologist who works at the Prince of Wales Hospitals and privately at Randwick and Blacktown.
My particular clinical expertise is in vertigo (neurotology) and neurophysiology (especially nerve conduction studies).
Patients with chronic or recurrent vertigo, dizziness or imbalance who have seen other specialists or therapists and are still struggling form the core of my practice. I offer these patients expertise, consideration and compassion and often obtain excellent outcomes.
We are now offering Nerve Conduction Studies at Randwick Rooms.
Our Coronavirus Response
We are open and providing all services and hope this will continue, but only if we can remain safe for you and all of our team. Many people are understandably frightened in the current crisis, but our caring and professional staff will do all they can to keep you safe and comfortable.
Given that we are a specialist practice we are screening on the phone and at reception to minimise the chance of an infected patient entering the practice. If you have recently returned from overseas, have a coronavirus contact or have symptoms such as fever, cough or sore throat we will almost certainly need to reschedule your appointment.
Meticulous hygiene and social distancing are key priorities. We have hand washing and sanitising facilities in many locations. We have an infection control nurse and will be constantly reviewing and improving our protocols.
Many follow-up patients will be offered teleconsultation, usually on the telephone. This will be very strongly encouraged for the elderly and other high risk groups.
Come on time for your appointment, but not early. Depending on how many other patients are in the practice, you may be asked to wait in the car or sit on the verandah, so make sure you are wearing clothes that are comfortable for the weather.
If you have any concerns about our approach please discuss them with staff and we will do all we can to accommodate them.
UPDATE: From October 2020, all patients and visitors are expected to wear a face mask. Please bring your own if possible.
